NOAA Environmental Visualization Laboratory Image of the Day: Hurricane Blanca Strengthens

Blanca has rapidly intensified with an increase in wind speed of 60 knots since 8:00 a.m. EDT on June 2, 2015. The hurricane has developed a distinct pinhole eye in visible images surrounded by very deep convection. The hurricane should begin to move toward the north-northwest with an increase in forward speed on Thursday, June 4, 2015. (http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/?epac)
