From Joshua Tree National Park:
A small group of visitors at Hemingway made several walks across a highline Tuesday morning, in the calm before the #NewYearsStorm. Here is one highliner nearing mid-point, balancing ever-so-carefully on a narrow line of webbing stretched between the rocks.
Highlining and slacklining are increasingly popular activities in Joshua Tree. For safety, highliners wear climbing harnesses with a leash connecting to the highline.
To protect park resources, we do have some restrictions on how highlines and slacklines should be placed: they can be affixed only to rocks (never to vegetation), and not in campgrounds. Learn more from the park website: http://go.nps.gov/1mo71n
