Glacier National Park

From Glacier National Park:

Welcome 2015! Some People think that once the upper portion of the Going-to-the-Sun Road is closed for the season that the entire park is inaccessible...not true. Weather permitting the road is plowed all the way to Lake McDonald Lodge providing ski and snowshoe access to the portions of the road beyond. Avalanche Creek is a 6 mile ski from there and offers great views of Sacred Dancing Cascades along the way. Other ski routes in the park offer a host of trails for all abilities. Don't forget that starting January 10th our winter guided snowshoe trips will begin from the Apgar Visitor Center on the weekends. http://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/upload/WinterSnowshoe15-1.pdf (bh)
