SOUTHERN PACIFIC OCEAN - Tropical Cyclone Annabelle Still Well-Defined, but Weakening
On November 23 at 0000 UTC (Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. EST) Tropical Cyclone Annabelle's maximum sustained winds were near 60 knots. It was centered near 14.8 degrees south latitude, and 74.0 degrees east longitude, about 436 nautical miles south of Diego Garcia. Annabelle was moving to the southeast at 13 knots.
An infrared image of the storm was captured by Europe's METEO-7 satellite at 0030 UTC (7:30 p.m. EST). Animated infrared satellite imagery shows a well-defined low level circulation center (with tight spiral banding wrapping into the center
Tropical Storm Annabelle is on a weakening trend. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center expects Annabelle to weaken to a depression by Nov. 25 as it continues moving southeast over open waters of the Southern Pacific Ocean.
