NW PACIFIC OCEAN - The End of In-fa
Tropical storm In-fa is transitioning into an extra-tropical storm today. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center issued their final bulletin on the storm today at 0300 UTC (Nov. 25 at 10 p.m. EST) when it was centered near 22.6 north latitude and 138.7 east longitude, That's about 194 nautical miles southwest of Iwo To island, Japan.
In-fa's maximum sustained winds were down to 35 knots (40 mph/62 kph). In-fa was moving northeast at 12 knots and weakening.
Japan's MTSAT-2 satellite captured this infrared image of the storm in which it no longer appears circular. It is expected to pass south of the island of Iwo To later today.
