St. Charles, Missouri | Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail

If you’re in the Midwest and looking for a nice fall excursion, consider St. Charles, Missouri. Just upstream from St. Louis (about 30 miles by land), this historic city was significant in the early days of the Expedition. There are plenty of reminders that the Corps of Discovery passed through this riverside city. You’ll especially want to visit the Lewis and Clark Boat House and Museum and the town’s Main Street, lined with unique merchants and shops.

Here’s an interesting article from USA Today highlighting this picturesque city above the Missouri River: https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/destinations/2017/10/05/st-charles-missouri/734761001/
