Chaco Culture National Historical Park

In honor of #IndigenousPeoplesDay, we would like to recognize the ingenuity of the Chacoan people who lived in what is now the American Southwest. More than a thousand years ago, the indigenous Chacoans, without draft animals, metal tools or the wheel, constructed large buildings that were aligned perfectly with the cardinal directions and astronomical events. There are more questions than answers but we do know that the construction of the great houses was an incredible feat that is awe-inspiring to this day. #ChacoCanyon
