On Wednesday, November 11, 2015, a powerful low pressure system swept through the Midwest. The storm brought severe thunderstorms, heavy precipitation and high winds to the area.
In addition to thunderstorms, seven tornadoes were preliminarily confirmed by the National Weather Service in Iowa. This image, from the NOAA/NASA Suomi NPP satellite, shows the United States in true color on November 11, 2015.
