This Veterans Day marked the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Ia Drang depicted in the film "We Were Soldiers." Today, veterans of that battle from the 1st Cavalry Division presented a wreath at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, in front of the names of those lost at Ia Drang. Helicopter pilot and Medal of Honor recipient Bruce Crandall, as keynote speaker, described his experiences on that day. We thank him and his fellow soldiers for their service and we especially recognize those whose names are now forever inscribed on the wall.
