Today happens to be the 90th Anniversary of the dedication of the South Kaibab Trail.go.nps.gov/SKaibab
"The $73,000 "Yaki Trail," as it was called for a brief time after its completion in June 1925, was built where no trail had gone before. The route was chosen for both practical and aesthetic reasons. Except for the unavoidable, precipitous one-third mile segment below Yaki Point, engineers chose alignments to afford protection from landslides, exposure to year-round sunshine and summer breezes, and unobstructed canyon views." - Michael F.
