Where’s the snow?

From the U.S. Geological Survey:

Where’s the snow? This image was taken from the south side of Mount St. Helens on January 25, 2015, at elevation 3600 feet. Typically this trail would be an excellent snowshoe adventure with 2 to 4 feet of snow—this winter it is a hike. The lava in the foreground is an andesite flow that erupted about AD 1450; the Monitor Ridge climbing route is the snowy ridge in upper left. See what the volcano looks like on the north side, from the Johnston Ridge Observatory VolcanoCam http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/volcanoes/st_helens/multimedia_webcams.html.
