The Lake

The Lake — For those of you that are superstitious, today is Friday the 13th...an unlucky day for many. Friday the 13th is also, of course, a popular horror franchise that had a major cultural impact. If you've seen the movies, you know that it centers around "Camp Crystal Lake." According to the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, there are 172 "Crystal Lake" lakes in the U.S. Fortunately for you, we've identified the Crystal Lake that the movie was centered around...which happens to be Sand Pond in Hardwick, NJ. If you're interested, you can explore the area using The National Map viewer at http://bit.ly/CampCrystalLake.

And remember...don't walk under ladders, watch out for black cats crossing your path, and be sure to tell others about The National Map or else...mwah ah ah ah ahhhh <-- our creepy scary laugh.
