F is for Flow

From Isle Royale National Park:

F is for Flow

On your last #IsleRoyaleAdventure, you may have hiked along the Greenstone or the Minong Ridge trails. Both of these trails follow the spines of immense lava flows. The archipelago is made up of over a hundred individual lava flows, now tilted on their sides, with a total thickness of over 10,000 feet.

The Greenstone Flow is the thickest flow on the island, and is part of the largest lava flow on the planet! #geologyrocks!
