The people in this video do not assume a young Earth. The current scientific consensus is that the Earth is a few billion years old. The people in this video do not dispute that. But even with billions of years involved, how non-living chemicals could have come together to form a living organism through unguided natural processes remains a mystery.

I am reminded of a segment that I heard on National Public Radio about 25 years ago. Even back then, the Eastern Orthodox Church was seeing an influx of converts. Some Catholics had become disaffected by the changes of Vatican II. In other cases, members of Anglican, Lutheran, and other denominations didn't like the changes they had seen taking place in their churches in efforts to modernize and appeal to contemporary audiences.

The Eastern Orthodox Church has changed very little over the course of its history. The worship services are not user-friendly. But the converts are looking for something doesn't change over time.

That was NPR about 25 years ago.

This video was an interesting update.

The Life-Friendly Properties of Carbon And Other Non-Metal Atoms

There is Natural Theology and there is Revealed Theology. Natural Theology has to do with what we can learn about God through the study of nature (Romans 1. Creation attests to a Creator).

Revealed Theology has to do with what we can learn about God through the study of His Holy Word (the Bible).

Confessional Lutherans are big on Revealed Theology.

This podcast deals more with Natural Theology.
