This weekend brings the first day of official winter. It's also the shortest day of the year. Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park is one of several national parks across Alaska where rangers snapped a photo of the sun at high noon. Skagway’s temperature today is 33 degrees,
with official sunrise at 8:57 am and sunset at 3:00 pm for a total of 6:00 hours of daylight.
From here on out, days will be getting longer and warmer.
