Expected Rainfall Over the USA in the Next Five Days

From the U.S. National Weather Service:

Folks, This is serious stuff. This map shows expected rainfall over over the USA the next 5 days. The arrow points to an area where OVER 8 inches of rain is forecast over eastern OK into northwest AR!!!! This is almost unheard of this time of year, and if it falls, will likely lead to major, perhaps even record flooding. The soils over this part of the ABRFC basin are already very moist due to heavy rains the past 3 months. Runoff will be efficient and rapid. Rivers most likely to flood include the Illinois River, the Panama River, the Glover River and Little Rivers. Most of the rainfall will occur during a 36 hour period from Noon on Saturday until early Monday morning. Time to prepare for major flooding along these rivers as our confidence levels continue to increase.
