Connecting Kabetogama and Rainy Lakes, a small stream tumbles down a rocky chute: Welcome to the Gold Portage Rapids.
To visit, boat or paddle to the northwestern side of Kabetogama Lake near the Chief Wooden Frog Islands. The navigable stream channel begins around a bend in a small bay, so search carefully. Follow the channel to an established dock, where a quarter mile portage trail begins. The stream current is strong; it is not recommended to boat or paddle past the warning sign.
