The Northern Hawk Owl | U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Mountain-Prairie Region

This #SuperbOwl has its game face on. The northern hawk owl’s preferred mammalian meal is vole; it also eats birds during winter or other tiny mammals. It lives year-round in Canada and Alaska, and sometimes ventures further south when food is scarce. It can hunt at night and during the day using its superior eyesight and hearing.
