Severe Weather Moving along the Gulf Coast

This image, taken by the Suomi NPP satellite's VIIRS instrument on February 2, 2016, shows yesterday's severe weather moving across the Gulf Coast. The system, which brought heavy rain and reported tornadoes to the area, was spun off from the same storm system that recently buried the Great Plains and parts of the Midwest under blizzard and near-blizzard conditions.
