From George Washington Carver National Monument:
George Washington Carver's life began in Diamond, Missouri, on the Carver Farm. Born enslaved and orphaned at an early age, George faced tough circumstances. Despite all challenges, he became a trailblazer in the agricultural world, devoting his life's work to sustainable practices still in use today.
Come visit the farm where he spent his formative years to learn and share in George's legacy every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ed)
