Summer 2014 is an exciting time for anyone following U.S. relations with the countries of Africa. Right now, 500 of Africa’s most talented and innovative young people are in the United States participating in the Washington Fellowship, the signature exchange component of President Barack Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI). On July 28-30, this extraordinary group of 500 will convene in Washington for a Presidential Summit. This is not only an opportunity for U.S. leaders to hear from the Washington Fellows -- it’s a chance for them to network with each other and share ideas.
