Lincoln Man Sentenced for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine

United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that on April 15, 2013, Efrain Zepeda Cruz, age 33 of Lincoln, was sentenced to seven years and three months (87 months) in prison for his role in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine between January 2011 and January 2012. Following the prison term, Zepeda Cruz will serve four years on supervised release.
Zepeda-Cruz was held responsible for the distribution of at least 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine mixture (approximately three pounds). In March and April 2011, a confidential informant and an undercover officer made three purchases of methamphetamine from Zepeda-Cruz totaling approximately ¼ ounce.
The matter was investigated by the Lincoln/Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force, which includes officers of the Lincoln Police Department, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Department.
