A PRAYER ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11

From The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod:

A PRAYER ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11

Lord of all nations, God of all peoples, we praise You for answering the prayers of Your people as we sought Your mercy and protection following the events of September 11, 2001. Your providence and care have given to us daily bread and protection from enemies. Let us ever trust Your mercy even as enemies continue to threaten our peace. Bring comfort through Your Word to those whose hearts are heavy on this anniversary, may they find their hope in Your Son’s victory of evil and the grave. Turn all our hearts to Jesus, who is our life and our salvation, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

A PRAYER DURING HURRICANE IRMA

From The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod:

A PRAYER DURING HURRICANE IRMA

Holy Father, Your Son spoke of people’s hearts failing them for fear of what was coming upon the world as the waves of the sea rise and nations are in turmoil. Look in mercy on all who have been devastated by Hurricane Irma in the Caribbean and Florida, especially all who have lost loved ones, home or employment. Remember those still struggling from Hurricane Harvey’s aftermath. Keep the hearts of all disaster responders from despair, and fill them with good courage. Even though the form of this world is passing away, let them minister in the sure certainty of what never can pass away: Your love in Jesus Christ. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer.

DISASTER PRAYER VIGIL MATINS - MIDNIGHT OR DURING THE NIGHT

From The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod:

DISASTER PRAYER VIGIL
MATINS - MIDNIGHT OR DURING THE NIGHT

“At midnight I rise to praise you.” Psalm 119:62

Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Our Father…

O God, the darkness is not dark to You. Remember in mercy Your children who cry out to You in the hours of this night, particularly all who have suffered loss by the storm and floods, and those now in danger of the same. Be their loving Father, provide for all their needs, and protect them from despair. Use us all to show them Your love and care; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

From our missionaries in Latin America

From The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod:

From our missionaries in Latin America:

This morning Hurricane Irma was upgraded to a category 5 hurricane. We are preparing for this in the best ways we possibly can. This monster storm is set to impact Puerto Rico on Wednesday and the Dominican Republic on Thursday, on its march westward.

At this time, we ask for your prayers for the safety of all who are in the path of this massive storm, especially for our missionaries and their families serving in the Caribbean area.
