One of the Better-looking Apples on Tree

I went to Powell Gardens, near Kingsville, MO expecting to see numerous apple trees laden with fruit. What I found were numerous trees with only a few apples on them and the apples were misshapen. A staff member explained to me that Powell Gardens grows things organically, which means no pesticides. Earlier this year, there was a Japanese beetle infestation. Also, some kind of blight went through. That is why there were so few apples and the apples that did make it to the end of the season did not look very good. Below is one of the better-looking apples.
