There are a couple of inaccuracies associated with this plaque. The plaque states that 823 Potawatomi Indians camped near Blue River. But this monument is located along the Little Blue River. The Blue River is located several miles to the west.
It may also be worth noting that one of the donors was the Blue Ridge Mall Optimist Club. The Blue Ridge Mall no longer exists. It had gone downhill for several years. Eventually, a very large Wal Mart took its place.
