Preparing for the Rising River (ID: 66507)

Foley, Mo., June 7, 2013 -- A home is surrounded by sand bags in anticipation of flooding of the rising Mississippi River. Luckily, the river flood waters did not reach the house. FEMA and the State of Missouri conducted joint Preliminary Damage Assessments (PDA) in the areas affected by rising river. A PDA is used to determine the magnitude and impact of an event's damage.
