From NASA's Hurricane Web Page:

SOUTHERN PACIFIC OCEAN - Tropical cyclone Victor' s Large Eye Seen on Satellite
Tropical Cyclone Victor's eye is very large and was spotted in this image from NOAA's GOES-West satellite today, Jan. 18 at 1200 UTC (7 a.. EST) as it continues to threaten the Southern Cook Islands. A gale warning is in force for Palmerston in the Southern Cook Islands.
At 0900 UTC (4 a.m. EST) Victor was still a Category 1 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Scale with maximum sustained winds near 75 knots (86.3 mph/138.9 kph). It was moving to the south at 6 knots (7 mph/11 kph). Victor was centered near 19.1 degrees south latitude and 1661 degrees west longitude about 391 miles SE of Pago Pago, American Samoa
Victor is moving south. A ridge (elongated area) of high pressure building to the south of the tropical cyclone will turn it to the west-southwest where it will move south of Tonga. The cyclone will intensify over the next few days, peaking at 80 knots. Adverse conditions will then prompt a weakening trend, as it veers west to west-northwest.
