The Korean War is often called the "Forgotten War"

From National Mall and Memorial Parks:

The Korean War is often called the "Forgotten War," despite being one of the hardest fought wars in American history and the sacrifices of the 5.8 million Americans who served in the U.S. armed forces from 1950 to 1953. While there is a ceasefire, the conflict continues and nearly 30,000 U.S. troops are still stationed in Korea, putting their lives on the line to defend our South Korean allies and preserve the freedoms won 62 years ago. We honor and thank those who bore the battles over half a century ago as well as those who have continued to protect the legacy of those sacrifices.
